Fethard Horse Country Experience

A permanent exhibition telling the story of Ireland’s horse country through film, audio, and interactive multimedia.

NewAngle were commissioned by designers Event Communications to produce six interactive programs, two films, and an atmospheric soundscape for an exhibition telling the story of the medieval Irish town of Fethard and how it grew into a world centre for breeding champion racehorses.

Installations include the film ‘Myths and Legends’, recounting ancient stories rooted in the local area. For this, NewAngle used motion graphics and an atmospheric soundscape to complement footage shot on location by Event.

To reflect the area’s strong connections with horse racing, breeding and farming, we created the ‘Racing Legends’ interactive database containing footage and imagery of locally bred racing stars.

One of the exhibition’s focal points is a 12-screen installation celebrating champion racehorse Sadler’s Wells, with the sire’s skeleton standing in front.
