Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballets Russes 1909-1929
Dramatic and dynamic large-scale projections and seamless audio for a major retrospective of the creative impresario behind the revolutionary Ballets Russes, Sergei Diaghilev.
The exhibition finale was ‘The Firebird’, a film incorporating specially shot footage of a ballerina in silhouette, projected at the full height of the North Court walls. Woven into the piece were archive photographs and graphic effects, edited to music from the ballet. The film was closely integrated with lighting and a huge backdrop from the original production.
Elsewhere, ‘The Inspiration Wall’ presented a motion-graphics animation of images, artworks and places that inspired Diaghilev.
NewAngle acted as AV consultants for the entire exhibition, from the initial design stage through to final installation. This exhibition toured to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
