The development of the estate is a projected animation that shows how 1,000 years of history have left their mark on the landscape at Audley End.

Seven main phases of the estate’s development show how woodland has been cleared, buildings erected and demolished, and the surroundings shaped and reshaped by a succession of owners.

A series of short films where the people who lived and worked on the estate, from the Yard Boy to the Land Steward, are telling the visitor about their experiences. Sequences were filmed using actors with scripted dialogue and period costumes.

The 'Historian’s Desk' is an interactive that displays different types of documents such as photos, bills, journals, etc. The visitor can select a document to reveal detailed information on background materials and the methods of research.
